About Us

History

Today’s ArtServe Michigan is the product of a recent merger in October 2006 with the Michigan Association of Community Arts Agencies that focused on the need to create a single statewide organization with the credibility, capacity, creativity and clout to effectively support, strengthen and build awareness of arts, culture and creativity in Michigan.

The organization was originally founded in 1997 through a merger of four statewide organizations – Arts Foundation of Michigan, Business Volunteers for the Arts, Concerned Citizens for the Arts in Michigan, and the Michigan Alliance for Arts Education – a merger that brought together 32 years of arts leadership in the state.
